Inspired by the owners' love of wooden homes and their desire to retain the warmth and character of the old building, John Malick and Associates came up with a California Craftsman design celebrating the vitality of craftsmanship by emphasizing the home's exposed post-and-beam-construction, hand-assembled wainscots, casework, doors and windows, all of which were executed in clear, vertical grain Douglas fir.
